Danish Design MAKERS Exhibition
New project “Volume”, made in collaboration with Jonas Edvard will be shown at the Danish Design MAKERS Exhibition “Extremely…” at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, 7-11 february 2017. – Stand AG: 53
”Volume” is made from two pieces of perforated steel sheets, which are pressed in shape creating a strong and curved seating held together by the simple meeting of the tubular steel legs.
The appearance of” Volume” is both solid and see-through showing the unique qualities of steel, which is strong yet flexible at the same time.
The perforated sheet material enables an honest and detailed design in a soft curved shape creating a comfortable and fully recyclable chair.

Poul Madsen about Nikolaj Steenfatt:
“Nikolaj is very experimental in his use of materials and this is one of the things that make him extremely interesting as a designer. He strives to push the boundaries for what you can do with a given material and what type of things you can use for creating both an aesthetic and functional design. He has a unique ability to see potential in the most unlikely of places. For example he has made one chair out of moss and another of hardened leather. He has even created his own composite material. As a manufacturer it is very inspiring to see how Nikolaj approaches and challenges the production process. His work is both innovative and thought provoking.
I look very much forward to seeing his work at blickfangselected and I am convinced he will make an amazing presentation!”
